An internship at the Ohio Lottery Commission will add to your professional development and give you practical work experience. The internship is an opportunity to learn and work in your field of study, expand on your classroom knowledge, gain hands-on exposure, and learn about interesting careers in State government. College Interns will work closely with agency staff members on a variety of assignments.
The internship will begin in May 2025 and end in September 2025.
The position is temporary in nature, benefits are not offered.
What You'll Do
Information Technology-Testing and Quality Assurance Intern responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Support the Office of Information Technology-Gaming System/UAT department
- Assist staff in testing new software applications and upgrades to existing software applications and systems
- Assist staff in requirements gathering and documentation
- Support efforts for using test scripts to test for performance issues and bugs
- Assist staff in test script development
- Analyze and document testing results and submit results to supervisor
- Assist in creating written information about the agency's computing processes and applications
- Perform other duties as requested
- Reports to: Information Technology Supervisor
- This internship is eligible for hybrid work pursuant to the Ohio Lottery Commission’s Teleworking Policy, which incorporates both telework and in-office work days. If approved, the successful candidate will be required to comply with the requirements established in the Ohio Lottery Commission’s telework agreement and policy.
- Support the Office of Information Technology-IT Operations/Application Development department
- Assist staff in developing reports used by applications
- Use low code tools to assist staff in creating small applications used by individuals or small groups of Lottery staff
- Assist staff in requirements gathering and documentation
- Assist in writing process and procedure manuals related to application development and data security continuous improvement processes
- Assist with digital content creation
- Assist in creating written information about the agency's computing processes and applications
- Help staff collect and interpret technical information
- Perform other duties as requested
- Reports to: Information Technology Manager
