If you desire to make a difference in the lives of undergraduate students, the School of Health, Life Sciences & Education in the Getty College of Arts & Sciences at Ohio Northern University invites you to apply for a visiting faculty position to begin August 20, 2025. Review of applications will begin February 9, 2025 and continue until the position is filled. Scope : The School of Health, Life Sciences & Education in the Getty College of Arts & Sciences at Ohio Northern University welcomes applicants for a one-year, visiting assistant professor position with the possibility of extending the appointment for an additional 1 or 2 years by mutual agreement. Principal Responsibilities The successful candidate will be a broadly trained scientist interested in teaching biology and neuroscience-related courses, including but not limited to, cell biology, anatomy & physiology, and topics in neuroscience research. The successful candidate will also offer versatility in teaching or co-teaching other undergraduate biology courses. Ohio Northern University faculty teach 2325 credit hours per academic year. Required Skills : The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to inclusive pedagogical strategies that engage today’s students, experience with contemporary and traditional neuroscience / neurobiology laboratory techniques, strong interpersonal skills, and the interest and ability to mentor students both inside and outside the classroom. Candidates with expertise to teach neurobiology, cell biology and / or anatomy & physiology, are encouraged to apply. Minimum Qualifications : A Ph.D. in Biology, Neuroscience, or a related discipline is required. An ABD will be considered if all degree requirements are completed before September 1, 2025.
