Job Description :
- Assess clients' physical capacities, developmental, and psychosocial functions using both standardized and non-standardized assessment tools.
- Plan, coordinate, and implement occupational therapy for groups or individuals, determining appropriate therapy techniques and sequence.
- Consult with clients, healthcare professionals, and outside parties regarding client progress and integrate treatment plans with other programs.
- Participate in planning, organizing, and controlling occupational therapy services, policies, and procedures as an interdisciplinary team member.
- Assess and locate suitable adaptive equipment for clients.
- Document evaluations, observations, and assessments of client performance and record treatment plans and revisions.
- Requisition supplies and equipment and maintain accurate records.
- Keep abreast of current knowledge relevant to occupational therapy through continuous education and training.
- Attend staff meetings and collaborate with other professionals to enhance client outcomes.
- Assess and recommend services as mandated by Individualized Education Programs (IEP).
- Schedule and assist students during therapy sessions in line with IEP goals.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to implement necessary adaptations during school and after-school programs.
- Communicate with parents about student progress and provide input for IEP and transition teams.
- Advise on resources and equipment beneficial for clients.
