What are the responsibilities and job description for the Natural Resource Technician 1 position at Ohio State Parks and Watercraft SW District?
NRT1 position will serve as part of the maintenance team taking care of State Park.
General NRT1: Mowing, Trimming, Cleaning, Light Construction and Skilled Work
Skilled NRT1: Trail Lead- all things trail care and enhancement
Natural Resources Technicians (NRT1) perform a variety of duties to help support their assigned park.
In order to better serve our guests this position will perform frequent and/or enhanced custodial and housekeeping functions such as cleaning rental facilities, buildings, restrooms and cabins (e.g., sweeps and scrubs interiors: apply chemicals for cleaning; remove trash; strip and wax floors; wash and dry laundry; set-up housekeeping).
They perform routine and semi-skilled maintenance (e.g. trimming & assist/cut trees; landscaping & grounds maintenance; apply fertilizer and pesticides through license certification; collect water samples) and perform maintenance to vehicles and equipment;
Equipment Operations: power tools, push mowers, string trimmers, hedge trimmers, riding zero turn mowers, pick-up trucks, cash registers, office equipment, carpet cleaners, floor buffers, power washers.
Duty Assignments and Schedules: May vary from day to day based on assigned park operations. Position are seasonal (April through October) Up to 39 hours/per week. Up to 1,000 hours per fiscal year. Work holidays and weekends.
Pre-employment criminal background check will be required. Must be 18 years of age and have valid Ohio Driver's License.
