Scope of Position
The APRN is responsible for providing health care services to patients within the parameters of a standard care agreement with an attending physician member of The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Collaborates with a physician(s) and other clinicians in providing a full scope of patient care. Focus is on preventive health or the management of stable chronic conditions. Performs medical services that have been specifically authorized and directed by the credentialing body and the certifying organization through which they hold licensure.
Position Summary
The APRN provides health care services to patients working in collaboration with a licensed physician member of the medical staff. Healthcare services provided include care during acute and chronic phases of illness, education, and counseling of individuals and families, health promotion and prevention, and referral to other healthcare providers and community resources when appropriate
The Certified Nurse Midwife (APRN-CNM) will work in the area of OB/GYN and will focus on the health promotion and prevention for persons assigned as female throughout their lifespans; including but not limited to obstetrics (inclusive of antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum), gynecology, urogynecology, gynecologic oncology, infertility and/or maternal/fetal medicine
Minimum Qualifications
- Current certificate of authority to practice as an APRN-CNM in the State of Ohio
- Graduate of a Certified Nurse Midwifery program that qualifies the graduate to sit for the certification examination of a national certifying organization recognized by the Ohio Board of Nursing.
- Masters Degree in Nursing.
