What are the responsibilities and job description for the Occupational Therapist - Hand Therapist position at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center?
The Rehab Team Member works under the general supervision of the Director of Rehabilitation Services and under direct supervision of their clinic manager. The Rehab Team Member evaluates and treats patients in accordance with the laws and rules that govern the practice of their profession in the state of Ohio. Although team members report directly to the clinic manager, they are also responsible to each other, to those they supervise, and to other participants included in patient care activities.
Each Rehabilitation Team Member is first a part of a group effort to provide care within a continuous performance improvement environment, and secondly a distinct professional who provides specific contributions to the team approach. Team members assess patients and establish plans of care; provide a wide variety of treatment techniques; provide education and support to patients and their families; and facilitate continuing care planning. Team members evaluate quality of services and participate in outcomes management activities.
Minimum Requirement
Master's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Licensed as an Occupational Therapist in the State of Ohio. Occupational Therapists hired must attain and maintain hand certification no later than 24 months after eligibility is met.
All academic degrees must have been granted from an accredited institution. Current BLS certification.
Maintains professional licensure; demonstrates commitment to continuing education; meets mandatory education and health requirements; demonstrates competence in technical, interpersonal, and cognitive skills required to meet essential job functions. Maintain current BLS certification.
