Job Description
The Supervisor, Central Sterile Supply will supervise departmental operations, departmental staff, instrument processing, case carts, preference card processes, decontamination, sterilization, case cart processing, disposable supply inventory for case carts and selected reusable equipment. Equipment processed includes surgical instrumentation, utensils and other sterile products for patient care areas. Case cart production and maintenance is coordinated with Operating Room and obstetrical personnel for Labor and delivery, UH, James, and Ross Operating Rooms.
Position Summary : The Supervisor, Central Sterile Supply is also responsible for ensuring that sterile procedure trays, instruments, supplies and equipment are available for distribution to patient care areas. The Supervisor, Central Sterile Supply monitors compliance with sterilization policies and procedures and record keeping.
Required Qualifications
Associate's Degree in Healthcare or a related field. Current Healthcare Sterile Processing Association, formerly International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management, or Certification Board for Sterile Processing Certification within six months of hire. 3 years of relevant experience required. 4-8 years of relevant experience preferred.
