Ohio Substitute Teacher Services (OSTS) offers substitute teachers the opportunity to work in a variety of school settings throughout Ohio. Substitute teachers play an important role in a student's education. We assist in placing substitute teachers in vacant positions to facilitate a student's education in the absence of their teacher.

Requirements
- Criminal record check: Applicants must have a clean criminal record that allows for public school employment, verified through FBI and BCI background checks dated within 365 days of hire.
- Bachelor's Degree: Hold at least a Bachelor's Degree in any field.
- Professional references: Provide three professional references.
- Teaching License: Either obtain an Ohio Department of Education Substitute Teacher License or possess a Teaching License.
- Training: Complete SubSkills Online training (if applicable contingent upon hire) and submit all mandatory professional development modules and activities using PublicSchoolWorks as a platform.
- Effective communication: Communicate accurately and effectively, both in writing and orally.
- Punctuality: Maintain an acceptable attendance record and be punctual.
- Professional conduct: Adhere to the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators.
