Position: Motor Winder
Location: Phoenix, Arizona, 85034
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
- Rewind electric motors, stators and armatures
- Tear down equipment utilizing manufacturer's recommendations, industry best practices, and appropriate tools
- Inspect and troubleshoot mechanical equipment, systems, and parts for damage, diagnose possible reason(s) for failure
- Perform and document diagnostics and make repair recommendations via appropriate reports
- Provide information and document parts/work required to complete job
- Cleaning, staging, and checking of parts for accuracy
- Test completed repairs
- Provide preventative maintenance as required for equipment type and for extended equipment life
- Provide recommendations to improve reliability of equipment
- Assembly utilizing manufacturer's recommendations and industry best practices using necessary tools in a safe and timely manner
- Complete required reports for the work completed and inspected
- Prepare equipment for shipment
- Clean/organize shop to ensure safe work environment and efficient flow of work process.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Mechanical aptitude and skills
- Skilled at using and reading precision measuring devices, such as micrometers and calipers
- Competent at filling in paperwork and communicating effectively
- Thorough understanding of exploded diagrams or cross-sectional drawings
- Good communication skills with others by telephone, written documents or in person
REQUIREMENTS
- Completion of motor winding training via trade school, or "on the job" training, etc.
- Experience in maintenance and mechanical equipment repair is required
- Must have a valid driver's license and have a good driving record
- Able and willing to work overtime hours, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Must have 7 years minimum winding experience.
- Be able to take data, recognize connections of A/C and D/C motors.
- Able to wind an A/C motor from start to finish.
- DC winder a plus.
- Own hand tools a must.
- Must be available to work overtime as needed.
