About the Role
The Senior Diesel Mechanic Leader will be responsible for overseeing the operations and daily activities of the Diesel Mechanics in the Service Department at Ohio Truck Sales. This leader must drive productivity, ensure quality work, and maintain a positive working relationship with other departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Diesel Mechanics team in daily operations
- Work closely with the Production Manager to ensure accurate scheduling
- Develop and implement training programs for technicians
- Ensure procedures are followed to guarantee quality and completeness of work
- Implement new hire training process
- Drive teamwork, respect, and support among team members
- Address departmental issues and concerns
- Enforce company policies and regulations
- Maintain shop equipment and coordinate housekeeping efforts
- Coordinate daily communication and monthly meetings
- Assign work and manage processes for accurate completion of service orders
Qualifications
- High School Graduation or equivalent
- 5 years of diesel mechanical experience
- 5 years Management experience
- Strong management characteristics
- Electrical aptitude preferred
- Proven experience leading a team of 8 employees
- Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
