Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM) and Indiana University Health Physicians are seeking an experienced surgeon to join the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery. This is a great opportunity to work with a collaborative group of physicians in a well-established, fast-paced academic environment. This physician will provide services at the Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital Level 1 Trauma center in downtown Indianapolis in addition to Roudebush VA Hospital.
The appropriate candidates will be responsible for cardiovascular surgery for adult cardiac surgical patients with procedures including CABG, Valve Replacement, TAVR, TEVAR, Valve Repair, Aortic, procurement, VAD, and ECMO services in addition to teaching residents and students in their surgery specialty. They will support and contribute to a growing practice with highly collaborative and interdependent processes in place for successful patient outcomes. This is a full-time position; salary and academic / clinical rank will be commensurate with experience.
Basic Qualifications :
- Qualified candidates must have M.D., DO, or equivalent education
- Completed a cardiothoracic surgery fellowship or integrated program
- American BC / BE in Surgery
- Minimum of 3 years' experience is preferred in cardiac, transplant, mechanical support, and procurement
- Collaborate and successfully interact with a multi-disciplinary team to promote high-quality patient outcomes.
- Requires excellent interpersonal skills and clear written and verbal communication skills.
