Essential Functions:
- Demonstrate the values and guiding principles of OhioGuidestone every day, performing with the highest standards of excellence, integrity and ethics.
- Complies with all state and federal laws regarding protected health information.
- Maintains complete and current medical records regarding all clients served.
- In collaboration with the team, ensures a comprehensive health history through the collection of vital signs, lab work and OARRS reports as needed for further assessment and treatment.
- Documents client records, labs, medical records, and OARRS within Agency designated standards.
- Attend and participate in agency/ team/clinical meetings, including mandatory trainings, and treatment coordination
- Meets and sustains the OhioGuidestone designated productivity standard.
- Provides education to persons served, family members of persons served and other staff regarding medication, symptom management, wellness and health, as instructed by medical staff.
- Provides monitoring of clients’ mental illness or substance use and physical symptoms; communicates any changes to the treatment team.
- Provides direct witnessed urinalysis, targeted case management, or individual psychotherapy to clients to monitor symptoms, carry out prescriber orders and support coordination of care.
- Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting.
- Must be able to operate a computer and other position related technologies
- Must be able to verbally exchange information in a confidential manner with employees, clients, students, participants, and/or families in various settings
- Must be available for crisis management by phone as needed
- Must be able to work flexible hours as needed
- Must be able to clearly and confidentially communicate with OhioGuidestone employees, clients, students, participants, and other stakeholders
- Meets and sustains the Agency’s designated productivity standard.
- Travel to all Agency sites as needed.
- Maintains reliable attendance.
- Exhibit positivity, flexibility and a willingness to take on new responsibilities as requested or required.
- Demonstrate positive leadership, promote a team-based work environment and a culture of belonging.
- Present the Agency in the most positive light with all internal and external contacts.
- Obtain EKG as directed by the provider or nurse
- Provide immunization and injections under the supervision of a provider or nurse
- Point of care testing and preparing samples for pick up and phlebotomy.
- Ensure that the medical room is prepared and ready for exams and assist with any procedures and exams as directed by the provider or nurse.
- Review discharge instruction and support PT in regard to questions and concerns prior to leaving the office.
Education & Experience:
- High school education or equivalent required.
- Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program required.
- Medical Assistant credentials, required.
- CDCA licensure required within the first 6 months of employment.
- Minimum of 1 year of related Medical Assistant experience required.
- Demonstrated EMR experience required, Evolv preferred.
- Demonstrated computer literacy and excellent verbal communication.

- Ability to maintain relevant, timely documentation as required.
- Effective computer literacy skills, including Windows applications, Microsoft Office Suite, and electronic health records, etc.
- Must be able to access work locations, offices, and homes as necessary, which may include ascending/descending stairs.
- Possess a valid Ohio Driver’s License with a safe driving record and valid insurance.
- Successfully complete pre-employment screenings, including drug tests, background checks, and any other required assessments, such as a physical examination and TB test.
