Job Description

Job Title : Surgical Technologist

Job Specialty : OR Tech / Surgical Tech

Job Duration : 9 months

Shift : Day 4x10-hour (06 : 45 - 17 : 15), every other weekend possible, every other holiday

Guaranteed Hours : Not specified

Experience : Minimum 2 years as a surgical tech, experience in Level I or Level II trauma centers required

License : Not specified

Certifications : BLS (AHA) certification required

Must-Have :

  • Graduated from an accredited (CAAHEP) surgical technologist school, equivalent military training, or 10 years of experience as a Surgery Technician
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience in general, plastics, robotics, GYN / Uro, trauma, neuro, and ortho (totals)
  • Experience in vascular preferred

Job Description :

  • Prepare the operating room and gather supplies needed for surgical procedures
  • Deliver instruments to the surgeon and other members of the surgical team intraoperatively
  • May function as a second assistant to the surgeon
  • Assist in the decontamination of the room, supplies, and instruments postoperatively
  • Must have experience scrubbing in GYN, General, Neuro, Ortho, and Trauma
  • Work within a department consisting of 20 OR suites with an average case volume or census of approximately 50
  • Candidates must be able to scrub General, plastics, ortho, neuro, gyn, robotics, and urology
  • Must be available for weekend staffing as well as during the week
  • Trauma call is typically 25% neuro cases

    • Additional Requirements :

  • Candidate's permanent address must be greater than 100 miles from the most central facility to be eligible.
  • First to float requirement for travelers
  • Modules to be completed pre-start, averaging 12 hours, recorded in Kronos
  • Orientation hours total 16 and are non-billable
  • More than one call off and NCNS could result in termination
