About the Job Description
The Medical Technologist (ASCP) at OhioHealth performs various tasks to ensure accurate and timely patient test results. This role requires a strong foundation in medical laboratory technology, including knowledge of blood-borne pathogens and proper safety protocols.Responsibilities
- Testing and Analysis: Utilize automation, computerization, and manual methods to analyze body fluids and tissues.- Instrument Operation and Maintenance: Operate and maintain laboratory instruments, ensuring optimal system performance and guaranteeing valid data.
- Quality Control and Assurance: Perform quality control checks on procedures, equipment, reagents, stains, etc., and document all QC data used by technologists to determine validity of patient results and verify instrument performance.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to clinicians and clients, communicating clearly and professionally over the phone and in person.
Education and Certifications
- Associate's Degree in Applied Sciences- ASCP - American Society for Clinical Pathology Certification or equivalent
