Job Description Summary
The Group Exercise Instructor is responsible for the delivery of GHFC customer service, safety and productivity standards for the group exercise programs.
Responsibilities And Duties
85% Customer Satisfaction
Serves as positive role model through the direct performance of class instruction and by demonstrating: 1) positive attitude towards members, staff, programs and the facility; 2) appropriate concern for members; 3) punctuality in the discharge of duties; 4) initiative, interest and enthusiasm for the job; 5) constructive use of work time; 5) cooperation; 6) an awareness of limitations and seeking suggestions for improvement in performance from appropriate persons.
15% Program Development/Professional Development
Communicates effective by: 1) keeping the Team Leader/Supervisor/Manager informed of current activities affecting the Center; 2) maintaining clear lines of authority; 3) obtaining the appropriate approval for program changes; 4) coordinating schedules with other team members; 5) participating in required meetings and appropriate committees; 6) demonstrating creating problem solving in challenging situations; 7) continual practice and study of disciplines.
Minimum Qualifications
High School or GED (Required)ACE - Advanced Health & Fitness Specialist - American Council on Exercise, ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support - American Heart Association, ACSM - American College of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer - American College of Sports Medicine, BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association
Additional Job Description
Certification from either ACE, ACSM, AFFA, NETA, MDA, (Mad Dogg Athletics, spinning), Yoga Fit, Stott Pilates, or other certifying board that is approved by Manager. Credentials specific for area of specialty in either Group Exercise, spinning, Pilates, Yoga, Dancing, Tai Chi or other specialty. Continuing study and teacher training towards 200 hours or 5 00 hours and practices of Yoga and or continuing study and training towards Stott Pilates. CPR/BLS or ACLS. HR and RPE assessment. Anatomy, special needs of participants, particular postures in special needs. One year experience
