Job Description Summary:
The Medical Technologist performs accurate patient test results for diagnosis and management of human illness. Utilizing automation, computerization, and manual methods. Responsible for quality control and instrument operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities:
Handles various bodily fluids including blood, tissue, fecal matter, sputum, urine, and spinal fluid. May encounter specimens contaminated with infectious diseases such as HIV and other bloodborne pathogens.
Requirements:
Associate's Degree in Applied Sciences (Required)
Certifications:
ASCP - American Society for Clinical Pathology
MLT Certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology
