We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Operating Room Specialist to join our team at OhioHealth. As an integral part of our surgical team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth execution of surgical procedures. Your expertise in preparing the operating room, gathering supplies, and delivering instruments will be invaluable in maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.Responsibilities:
- Prepare the operating room for each procedure by obtaining and preparing necessary supplies and equipment
- Maintain a sterile field and present instruments to the surgical team
- Deliver instruments and supplies to the surgeon and other members of the team
- Assist with draping and operative site exposure as needed
- Participate in post-procedure cleaning and equipment maintenance
- Contribute to unit operations by participating in effective communication, quality care, and personal growth initiatives
Key Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Basic Life Support certification required
- Completion of an accredited surgical technologist program or equivalent military training preferred
- ST certification highly valued
- Ability to anticipate surgeon needs and communicate effectively with staff
- Strong critical thinking skills and ability to intervene safely in emergency situations
