JOB SUMMARY
Responsibilities
The Psychologist is part of an educational team responsible for providing clinical supervision, developmental performance feedback, and didactic services to psychiatry residents at all levels of training. This will include:
- Evaluation of resident physician psychotherapy skills including routine feedback sessions and mapping of resident performance to ACGME and APA milestones.
- Evaluation of resident psychotherapy assessments and treatment plans.
- Ensuring supervision and psychotherapy workload is adequate to support the trainee’s level of competence and in compliance with local and national standards.
- Ensuring resident trainee psychotherapy practice is providing safe, high-quality treatment in-line with current best practices.
- Participating in program level feedback of trainees through the biannual clinical competency committee (CCC).
- Providing program guidance in psychotherapy and clinically related areas.
Doctorate: Psychology (Required)
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE
- Strong knowledge of psychological assessment skills and impact of psychological issues on health maintenance.
- Understanding of psychiatric needs and psychotropic intervention.
