The Radiation Therapist delivers radiation therapy treatments as prescribed by
the Radiation Oncologist. Prepares patients for a course of Radiation Therapy
inclusive of simulation, dose calculations and acquiring of treatment
parameters.
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE
Graduate of approved Radiation Therapy Technology Training Program
INFORMATION SECURITY
Maintains confidentiality of log-on password(s) and security of other
authentication devices (e.g., key fobs, proximity devices, etc.).
Ensures privacy and security of information entrusted to their care.
Uses company business assets and information resources for management-approved
purposes only.
Adheres to all information privacy and security policies, procedures,
standards, and guidelines.
Promptly reports information security incidents to the OhioHealth Information
Security Officer.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Administers Radiation Therapy treatments on a daily basis.
Maintains daily record of treatment, inclusive of daily dosages and
calculations and other necessary treatment records.
Performs simulations, acquires treatment parameters, patient contours and dose
calculations.
Therapists who are scheduled to work 80 hours per pay, may be required to be
on-call for weekends and holidays on a rotating basis.
Maintains patient schedules for In-Patients and Out-Patients communicates
frequently with families and hospital personnel to maintain schedule
coordination and accommodate patients as best as possible.
Monitors patient Condition and progress on a daily basis. i.e., patient
weighs, skin care, reaction, etc. .
Assists Radiation Oncologist in performance of Brachytherapy procedures.
Oversees and directs clinical activities of Radiation Therapy Technology
students. Provides clinical insight to Radiologic Technology students, nursing
students, etc. as needed.
Participates in Department Clinical QA activities, new patient conference,
tumor board and QRM.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to
walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and
and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to
sit. The employee must regularly lift andor move up to 50 pounds. Specific
Vision abilities required by this job include close Vision, distance Vision,
and color Vision.
