POSITION SUMMARY:
The Heavy Duty custodian shall be responsible for keeping the Ohkay Casino clean at all times in a safe and efficient manner. The Heavy Duty custodian shall report to the assigned EVS Manager and in the absence of the EVS Manager report the EVS Supervisor, while performing his/her duties in accordance to the Company policies, procedures and objectives.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Responsible for ensuring the Ohkay Casino is kept clean at all times.
- Cleans restrooms multiple times each day, to include floor and fixtures.
- Clean all gaming devices, tables, and chairs associated with the casino floor.
- Remove trash from the gaming area and clean ash trays.
- Clean all associated support areas to include back of the house offices and restrooms as needed.
- Must have knowledge of chemicals.
- Must have knowledge of buffers, waxing and carpet shampooing machines.
- Responsible for striping, buffing, waxing floors in both the front and back of house.
- Daily mopping of needed floors.
- Responsible for shampooing/evaluating carpet.
- Responsible for high distance cleaning (i.e. walls, TV’s, signs, vents, etc.)
- Regular vacuuming of all carpeted surfaces.
- Ensure that while cleaning, customers and co-workers are treated in a professional manner.
- Provides excellent customer service and directs all complaints to EVS Supervisors in a professional manner.
- Understand safety rules and carries out duties in a safe and efficient manner.
- Informs EVS Supervisor of any cleaning supplies or toiletries that need to be ordered.
- Informs security or EVS Supervisor of any employee or customer theft.
- Must maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
High School Diploma or equivalent with at least one (1) year experience working as a custodian or related area. Ability to learn how to safely use cleaning solutions. Ability to learn current occupational safety standards, including Safety Data Sheets.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:
Moving (walking, standing, working) throughout casino.
Working indoors/outdoors, and continuously standing, bending, and kneeling.
Vision, hearing, speech and literacy (critical)
Using chemical agents, wearing personal protective equipment, climbing, lifting, pushing, pulling or carrying up to 50 pounds and 150 pounds assisted.
EQUIPMENT TO BE USED:
Buffers, waxing and carpet shampooing machines. Vacuum cleaners (pushing and backpack style)
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Ability to work in a casino environment, in the midst of noise, crowded situations etc.
