- Cost Management: Implement and oversee cost control strategies to ensure projects remain within budget, including evaluating data for anomalies and assessing potential outcomes.
- Schedule Management: Prepare and maintain project schedules, including Critical Path Method (CPM) updates and detailed schedule analysis to ensure timely project completion.
- Contract and Compliance Oversight: Coordinate with legal teams to ensure the team follows contractual obligations, notification requirements, and compliance with all project specifications.
- Team Leadership: Function as the team leader, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure team members understand and meet contractual requirements, while fostering professional growth.
- Submittals and Documentation: Thoroughly review submittals to ensure compliance with documentation processes, procedures, and project specifications.
- Project Coordination: Lead and facilitate project coordination meetings with subcontractors, field staff, and stakeholders, ensuring alignment and smooth execution of the project plan.
- Vendor and Invoice Management: Monitor invoice processing, maintain positive relationships with vendors, and approve subcontractor payment requisitions.
- Quality and Safety Assurance: Fully support Quality Engineers and Safety Engineers, participate in project audits, and enforce adherence to quality and safety standards.
- Drawings and Documentation: Ensure the development and timely completion of shop drawings and As-Built drawings, verifying accuracy and adherence to project timelines.
- Estimating and Bid Proposals: Assist with estimating bids and proposals, contributing technical insights to support competitive and compliant submissions.
- Technical Problem Solving: Actively participate in technical discussions to resolve challenges and ensure optimal construction methods and practices are implemented.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is required.
- Experience: 10-14 years of progressive experience in civil road construction project management, including cost control and scheduling.
- Technical Expertise:
- Advanced understanding of construction methodologies and subcontractor trades work.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with Adobe Acrobat or Bluebeam.
- Working knowledge of Primavera P6 (P6), HCSS, and AutoCAD is essential.
- Leadership Skills: Strong team leader with the ability to understand individual strengths and weaknesses, mentor team members, and improve their skill sets.
- Communication Skills: Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with team members, subcontractors, and upper management.
- Time Management: Exceptional organizational skills, including the ability to self-manage, ensure daily tasks are completed, confirm with the team on task completion, and provide timely updates to management.
