Ideal Candidate Statement
The successful Business Analyst works directly with IT Services and various College business units utilizing strong analytical, communication and research skills to develop solutions to obtain business objectives. Advanced knowledge of Ellucian Colleague and other third-party software will be used to develop and deliver solutions that are effective and efficient. The candidate will be familiar with College business practices and federal, state and local mandates that must be considered for implementations. The candidate will demonstrate a high level of organization and be able to respond to changing priorities.
This position is remote optional, however, employees are expected to be on campus for pre-scheduled meetings and college-wide events unless the employee is on leave (sick, vacation, FMLA, etc.).
Position Description
Under the direction of the Administrator serves as an important link between the district's technological capabilities and its business objectives. Provide expert cross-functional technological solutions for the college business units' processes to maximize institutional efficiency and effectiveness. Ability to evaluate Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (Ellucian Colleague) baseline functionality and other third-party software solutions in relation to business units' processes to maximize effectiveness. Have a solid understanding of college business functions as it pertains to: Fiscal Services (Accounts Receivable, Payable, Payroll, Budget and General Ledger), Human Resources, Student Services, Financial Aid, Academic Affairs.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Review, evaluate and implement recommendations for improved methods or business procedures; plan and implement departmental business processes and projects in the assigned functional area.
• Work directly with the assigned business units to understand business processes in areas such as; Fiscal Services (Accounts Payable, Accts Rec, Budgeting, Payroll), Human Resources, Student Services, Financial Aid, Academic Affairs.
• Analyzes business units' processes and procedures to maximize efficiency in relation to ERP (Colleague) systems and other third-party software systems.
• Provide guidance and training to business units on proper utilization of ERP systems functionality and other software to perform business units' objectives.
• Lead, develop, design, document, maintain, evaluate, support and provide problem resolution for information systems applications, especially in relation to the district ERP system (Ellucian Colleague).
• Acts as liaison between end users and IT in the assessment and development of solutions.
• Assist users to retrieve data from system.
• Develop reports, procedures, forms, documentation and other organizational tools to implement and manage efficient workflow used in the business units.
• Plan and prepare correspondence related to the position.
• Provides on-going support and solutions to the College's ERP system as assigned;
• Participates in the review and definition of functional areas, processes, and procedures to improve existing systems including upgrades, testing and rollout, the organization and flow of data, methods, to improve existing systems;
• Recommends workflows and request procedures for providing services related to ERP systems and other enterprise-level systems;
• Documents technical procedures and processes;
• Participates in short-range and long-range planning;
• Leads users and user groups in assessment and process mapping and business workflow criteria.
• Develops user manuals and procedures to assist departments and divisions in the effective use of information systems;
• Develops procedures to support and interface with systems and streamline operations;
• Plans and schedules upgrades, testing, and rollout of the College's systems that minimizes impact to the operations of the College;
• Coordinates with vendors and consultants for all requirements, technical support, scheduling and any other needs;
• Uses effective project management tools for development and custom programming, patch testing, and project accounts;
• Assists and leads staff in training and creating technical solutions to on going or mission critical issues with technology;
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Any combination equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or other closely related degrees. Experience may substitute for a degree on a one-on-one equivalency;
AND
At least five (3) years of full-time experience in the area of business process analysis, technical documentation, testing, report generation, and/or user training; at least three (3) years of full experience in ERP systems required (ex. Colleague, Banner, Jenzebar, PeopleSoft) Experience with ERP's, Vendors and Colleges business practices and technologies;
AND
Must have evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, as these factors relate to the need for equity-minded practices.
Physical Characteristics
This position requires physical abilities needed to work in a standard office setting, including but not limited to: standing and/or sitting for prolonged periods; occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and twisting; occasional lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling light and moderate amounts of weight; operating office equipment which may require repeated fine motor skills (e.g.: keyboard use); and the ability to communicate in written and verbal forms. The position requires vision and hearing in normal ranges (with or without correction) sufficient to operate any assigned equipment and the ability to clearly communicate with others in written and verbal forms.
