JOB DESCRIPTION
As we accelerate and operationalize its One Technology Roadmap, it has become apparent there is a need for a team and structure that will be responsible for building high-quality enterprise products and platforms at scale. Product Management will play an integral part of the Global Technology team as we move into a technology-led strategy, with the Domain Product Manager being an essential component of that team. This function has a deep understanding of how to bring the best of Global Tech together, including a deep understanding of how to leverage platform capabilities.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR
- We are hiring for the position of Product Manager (PM) supporting the Developer Experience Platform within the Enterprise Architecture & Developer Platforms domain.
- Enterprise Architecture & Developer Platforms provides the Architecture, Platforms, Innovations, and Initiatives that enable our customers and the business to have the Agility, Fast Time-to-Market, and Cost Effectiveness they need to be successful through an ecosystem of composable platforms.
- Enterprise Architecture & Developer Platforms team is seeking a Sr/Lead Technical Product Manager for products in the Developer Experience platform that provide tools to standardize and increase developer productivity, while improving the overall developer experience.
- As the GitHub Developer Experience Product Manager, you will lead the technical product management function, own product strategy, and design roadmaps for products and technology solutions within the platform. You must have proven experience in leading technical product management in the areas of:
- GitHub, or software version control system
- GitHub Copilot, or other software developer-centric AI in-app prompt engineering tool
- CI/CD processes and practices
- Software development lifecycle
- Reporting, analytics, dashboarding, data pipelines
- Software engineering background not required, but will be considered a plus
- As a PM Leader, you will focus on driving excellence in product and platform strategy and execution. You will work in close collaboration with various teams within Global Technology (e.g., Engineering, Program Management) and key Functional Teams across the business (e.g., Global Operations Team, Marketplace). PM Leaders will require experience designing creative, quality technical products and enabling business capabilities and objectives through technology.
- Lead and manage end to end enterprise roadmap
- Lead the creation of a product roadmap for a function in partnership with Engineering teams and business domains
- Partner with all stakeholders to understand Business needs, outcomes and value and ensure roadmaps are aligned to those needs
- Ensure roadmaps account for and integrate dependencies across functional areas within Domains
- Define product and platform strategy
- Partnering with all stakeholders to understand business needs and goals
- Utilizing a "customer-centric" mindset in designing roadmaps and building products/platforms that both meet current and future enterprise needs
- Developing product and platform strategies to ensure they deliver outsized value to Global Tech quickly and are built to be scalable and agile
- Bringing best-in-class market and industry insights to platform and product strategy
- Deliver value to the business via products & platforms while elevating product management maturity
- Use a value framework to make product and platform decisions
- Drive the execution steps of product management in accordance with the value framework
- Drive adherence to all standard PM ways of working (e.g., process, artifacts, templates, collaboration models)
- Track value delivered, product adoption, performance, and execution against the end-to-end roadmap and adjusting roadmaps as necessary.
WHAT YOU BRING
- You should be skilled in product management, analytics, a structured and data-driven thinker, and excellent interpersonal skills. Experience designing creative, quality technical products and enabling business capabilities and objectives through technology will be critical. You should be comfortable conducting user research, usability testing, A/B testing, and rapid prototyping. Additionally, you should be a skilled communicator with experience forming alliances and bringing together multiple stakeholders to execute on a common mission.
- 5 years of experience as a Technical Product Manager (TPM) within a large-scale enterprise level environment.
- You must have proven experience in leading technical product management in the areas of:
- GitHub, or software version control system
- GitHub Copilot, or other software developer-centric AI in-app prompt engineering tool
- CI/CD processes and practices
- Software development lifecycle
- Reporting, analytics, dashboarding, data pipelines
- Well-versed in software development lifecycle
- Has strong experience in cloud products/services, and tooling - AWS (Preferred), Azure, Google Cloud Platform - multi-cloud is a plus
- Has Developed product roadmaps with strong point of view - refined and prioritized epics and user stories
- Loves to collaborate with development/DevOps teams and engage with stakeholders customers.
- Has dealt with offshore/onshore coordination / distributed teams / cultural differences
- Has an inner desire to be the voice of customers / customer empathy critical to be successful
- Is an Innovator at heart! (We build new services, this is not heavy maintenance, end of life product stuff)
- Hands-on / Should be able to demo our product with ease to stakeholders and customers
