Responsibilities :
Analyze existing mainframe COBOL, JCL, DB2, SQL, VSAM, CICS, and FTP application processes to document and modernize them.
Refresh and maintain mainframe SIT and CAT environments with production data and resolve batch processing errors.
Apply business requirements to mainframe application objects and resolve critical defects before production deployment.
Ensure compliance with the Technology Solutions Life Cycle (TSLC) and coordinate reviews with software architects and business owners.
Update configuration diagrams and documentation to align with system changes.
Participate in Agile ceremonies, applying iterative methodologies to enhance usability and performance of systems.
Provide on-call and after-hours support to ensure uninterrupted production system operation.
Work proactively with end users and customers to meet application needs effectively.
Skills / Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent with additional experience).
8 12 years of relevant experience in software development, particularly with mainframe systems.
Expertise in COBOL, JCL, DB2, SQL, VSAM, CICS, and FTP.
Familiarity with Agile / Scrum processes and tools (e.g., VersionOne) and IT Service Management systems (e.g., ServiceNow).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a background in implementing complex business requirements.
Knowledge of the USPS operating environment and business processes.
Certifications or special credentials may be required at the task order level
