About the Role
As the Director of Resident Life, you will lead, plan, and oversee dynamic activity programs tailored to the interests and needs of our residents. This is a pivotal role in enhancing the lives of seniors, fostering community, and promoting well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, train, and evaluate Activity Assistants and volunteers, including recruitment and scheduling.
- Develop and maintain all activity-related documentation, including attendance, assessments, plans of care, progress notes, and MDS.
- Create monthly activity schedules in collaboration with assistants and resident feedback.
- Coordinate entertainment, special events, and holiday programming.
- Manage activity supplies, budgets, and newsletter creation.
- Lead Resident Council meetings, distribute minutes, and follow up on action items.
- Promote family and community involvement through events, surveys, and direct communication.
- Support resident safety and hospitality for visiting families.
- Coordinate appointments and services with beauticians and other professionals.
Qualifications
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred: Certification as an Activities Professional (or willingness to obtain).
- Desirable Skills: Public speaking, creative writing, CDL with passenger endorsement, CPR certification, and first aid/nursing training.
- Must pass a Criminal Background Check (BCI/FBI) and pre-employment drug screening.
Physical Requirements
- Able to transport residents in wheelchairs.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, and use hands to assist residents and handle supplies.
- Must be comfortable talking, hearing, and reaching with arms during daily activities.
