Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in foundry operations to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will leverage their technical expertise to enhance our manufacturing processes, work with EH&S of key projects to enhance safety and environmental controls, improve product quality and drive innovation in our foundry operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop mechanical systems and components for foundry processes, ensuring efficiency and adherence to quality standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, and R&D, to optimize foundry operations.
• Conduct failure analysis and troubleshooting for existing foundry equipment and processes.
• Implement and oversee process improvements, including material selection, casting techniques, and mold design.
• Prepare and review technical documentation, including specifications, reports, and project plans.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, including safety and environmental considerations.
• Conduct tests and simulations to validate designs and improve manufacturing processes.
• Provide technical support and training to foundry staff on equipment operation and maintenance.
• Key lead on design and implementation of structural and facility upgrades and equipment installations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on foundry or manufacturing operations.
• Strong knowledge of casting processes (sand casting, investment casting, etc.) and foundry equipment.
• Proficient in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and engineering analysis tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Certification as a Professional Engineer (PE).
• Experience with quality control systems and methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma).
