The Assistant Operations Manager manages and coordinates organization, branch, plant, or department operation strategies and activities.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate has three to five years experience at a management level position especially with regards to the manufacturing industry. High School Diploma or GED required. This job takes place at our shop location in Boerne, TX.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborates in the development and implementation of organization policies, practices, procedures, and attainment of operating goals with regards to all OFS Rentals.
- Reviews, analyzes, and prepares reports, records, and directives, and confers with managers/supervisors to obtain data required for the execution of the OFS Rentals.
- Interpret specifications or get clarification from Engineering when necessary.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure that all specifications, materials and other issues are resolved to avoid product and production delays.
- Supervise and oversee all daily activities of all Testers both here and as needed at our other Rental Depots.
- Evaluates current procedures and practices for accomplishing department objectives to develop and implement improved procedures and practices.
- Ensure maintenance of inventory levels in support of all Rental Objectives.
- Coordinates activities of department with related activities of other departments to ensure efficiency and economy.
- Manage and oversee all logistics related to our Rental equipment once all is ready to Ship.
- Utilize small and large tools, hoists, dollies and other devices when necessary.
- Comply with all safety procedures in each area assigned, including but not limited to, wearing protective clothing, special handling of chemicals, special handling of product, safety/rescue equipment usage.
- Run business errands.
- Interact and communicate with all levels of employees within the Company, as well as suppliers, customers and peers effectively.
- Comply with policies, procedures, standards and rules of the Company.
- Maintain quality assurance policy consistent with ISO standards.
- Maintain work area in a clean, orderly and safe manner.
- Punctual, regular and consistent attendance.
- Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Experience and Education
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Ability to read, write, and follow verbal instructions in Standard English required.
- Three to Five years’ experience at a management level position especially with regards to the manufacturing industry.
- Ability to solve complex technical, business and human relations problems and propose balanced solutions in support of business and employee needs.
- Ability to provide vision and leadership in a critical area of Company business.
- Some travel required, exposure to varying environments and cultures at the job site, changing deadlines, strict time constraints.
- Successful passing of a routine motor vehicle and credit report.
Physical and Technical Environment
- Must regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds, using proper lifting techniques or other available resources such as lifting or moving equipment or help from another employee.
- Ability to routinely travel throughout office and shop area, walking, climbing stairs.
- Use various manual wrenches and tools with the intent to sufficiently clamp and unclamp parts in fixturing.
- Must be able to be on feet all day.
- Specific vision requirements include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Clean and orderly manufacturing environment with some exposure to electrical and mechanical hazards, and/or normal office conditions, changing deadlines and project requirements, strict time constraints.
