The Role
As a Responder, you will support oil spill incidents and preparedness activities around the world.
You will undertake a comprehensive 12-week training course to build the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver efficient spill response.
Once qualified, you’ll respond to spill incidents globally, often at short notice, and take part in exercises, training delivery, and client engagement activities.
You’ll also be involved in maintaining response equipment, contributing to technical development, and helping to ensure operational standards remain high through active participation in safety and maintenance procedures.
Additionally, you will:
- Be on call and support global spill mobilisations
- Represent the company in forums, conferences, and client interactions
- Develop and update guidelines and procedures for equipment
About You
To be considered as a Responder, you will need:
- Experience demonstrating competence in spill response or related roles
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, especially in challenging environments
- Excellent written and verbal English language skills
- Confidence in using core O365 applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams)
- The ability to liaise confidently with internal and external stakeholders
- A willingness to travel internationally at short notice
- A degree in Earth/Marine Sciences, Geography, Engineering, or equivalent experience at degree level
- A full, clean driving license
Foreign language skills, especially French, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, or Arabic would be advantageous, but are not essential.
Other organisations may call this role Oil Spill Responder, Emergency Response Technician, Spill Response Specialist, Environmental Responder, or Field Response Technician.
