Oil States is currently looking for qualified candidates for the position of Project Coordinator in Houma, Louisiana.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Project Coordinator provides cross-functional support to multiple Project Managers, ensuring smooth execution of projects. Key responsibilities include tracking project progress, coordinating long-lead items and submittals, and assisting with invoicing, inspections, and reporting. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication across teams and with external stakeholders.
Responsible for the overall planning, coordination, and supervision of activities to ensure projects are completed according to specifications and within the projected cost and time schedule.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor project progress in the production shop, capture photo documentation, and update completion percentages within the production schedule.
- Track the release, procurement, and expected delivery dates (ETAs) for long lead components, maintaining close communication with the procurement team.
- Track the release and status of submittal documents and construction drawings throughout the engineering phase.
- Prepare and compile documentation required by accounting for milestone invoicing, including transmittal logs, POs, and photos of raw materials and components.
- Assist in developing customer progress reports, if requested, to provide visibility into ongoing work.
- Support Production Control in locating missing or misplaced materials or components that have been confirmed received but are unaccounted for in the workshop.
- Generate accurate packing lists for equipment that is ready for shipment.
- Support Contracts department with high-level project schedules for RFQs
- Support projects as the primary escort for third-party inspectors, ensuring compliance with facility safety guidelines while addressing questions and gathering required information.
- Provide any other support to Project Managers that may be required.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide stencils for projects as required, utilizing CNC stencil maker.
- Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.
- 2 years of experience in project coordination, manufacturing, construction, or engineering environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks across multiple projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with project scheduling software preferred.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for interaction with customers, inspectors, and internal departments.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation such as drawings, POs, and submittals.
- Proactive and resourceful in identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Consistent attention to detail
- Availability after hours and on weekend to meet project schedules.
- Good mathematical and measurement skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Prolonged sitting.
- Walking, standing, sitting, and occasionally lifting of up to 45 pounds.
- Comfortable working in a shop environment with exposure to noise, temperature fluctuations, and machinery.
