What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Recruiter position at Ojai Valley Inn & Spa?
The Recruiter is responsible for recruiting and hiring all line level positions for a five diamond, 305 room property with 850 associates. First point of contact for all line level employment inquiries. The Recruiter will screen applicants according to established job descriptions and profiles. Will conduct interviews that gauge compatibility with essential functions of Ojai Valley Inn positions while assessing each candidate’s ability/willingness to learn and adhere to the highest standards of service. Review all incoming applications. Oversee open interview process. Make contingent job offers. Communicate NTY “No Thank You” letters and calls with assistance from HR Administrative Assistant. Conduct pre-employment background and reference checks.. Monitor New Associate Orientation sign-ups. Participate in the following: on-site and off-site job fair attendance and planning, update current job openings, create collateral material as well as advertising for open positions via web-based promotions, newspapers, career centers, schools, fliers and other creative methods as recruitment needs require, monitor recruitment expenses and invoices.
Essential:
A minimum of two years experience working in Human Resources within a hospitality establishment, resort recruitment experience preferred
Passionate about recruitment and exudes warm, hospitable and sincere approach to all individuals
Communication style must be articulate, diplomatic and fair
Desire to learn and develop HR and/or Recruitment career while working in a support role
Familiar with standard laws, concepts, practices and procedures related to Human Resources, especially employment
Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to listen and respond effectively
Ability to learn OVI&S Recruitment Process and apply the program consistently and efficiently
Ability to handle a high volume of applications and inquiries
Working knowledge of G Suite & Microsoft Office Software: Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point and Publisher
Must be decisive with the ability to weigh out facts and come to a logical conclusion
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and fluency in English language
A self-starter with the ability to prioritize work and handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a hospitable and professional demeanor
Great interpersonal skills, professional presentation of self and warm disposition
Creative and innovative with approach and ideas

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Responsible for the effective recruitment and hiring of all open line level positions by:
becoming familiar with job descriptions and functions of all departments on property
updating weekly job postings
making recommendations for advertisement methods based on openings
maintaining the applicants in Ceridian
conducting screening interviews with walk-in and open interview candidates and notifying hiring managers of qualified applicants
ensuring candidates who are not selected receive proper notification in a timely manner
making contingent job offers
conducting and reviewing pre-employment background, reference checks and drug screens
overseeing new associate orientation sign-ups
Coordinate coverage for temporary staffing needs utilizing the where needed program and through communication with temporary staffing agencies
Update Ceridian to maintain up-to-date status on all applicants and monitor pre-employment process
Track and request Associate Referral Program bonus payments on the applicable due dates
Attend school sponsored job and career fairs, some travel may be required
Participate in the execution and coordination of on-site job fairs as well as off-site hiring events at career centers
Respond to all employment inquiries in a timely manner and ensure that “star” candidates are given first priority
Recognize the need and share ideas for executing ever-changing, innovative, active recruitment methods to attract the best candidates
Create collateral to promote OVI employment opportunities
The pay for this position is $26/hour.
