Ojo Santa Fe Spa & Resorts is now accepting applications for a Food & Beverage Manager.

The Food & Beverage Manager manages all aspects of the food and beverage operations at Ojo Santa Fe in accordance with the goals, objectives and culture set forth by resort management. Maintains a high standard of quality with regards to guest satisfaction, F&B operations, scheduling, employee morale and satisfaction, safety, compliance, and sanitation. Responsible for the delegation and completion of work in F&B Department. Backs up F&B staff as needed. Collaborates with all other Department Managers to ensure excellent guest experiences.

1. Manages F&B FOH and BOH staff at the resort in both the restaurant and banquets, including scheduling.
2. Maintains a culture of service excellence, models Ojo’s core values, and coaches employees to conduct themselves according to core values.
3. Strives to increase profitability, while maintaining high quality of service and effectively managing costs. Budgets and forecasts the performance of the Food & Beverage Department
4. Communicates with F&B staff through daily communication, regular meetings and monthly staff meetings.
5. Attends and actively participates in weekly resort management/operational meetings.
6. Develops and delivers operational and training for F&B staff.
7. Recruits for F&B staff and works closely with Ojo’s Human Resources team to properly implement the HR function in F&B.
8. Responds to guest comments and complaints in a timely manner; ensures that the guest is accommodated and happy.
9. Ensures the highest quality of food and beverage products.
10. Ensures the dining outlets maintain the highest quality service and hospitality.
11. Ensures the appropriate appearance of each dining outlet, both front and back of house.
12. Ensures the upkeep of operating equipment, utensils and tools.
13. Ensures successful execution of all F&B operating systems: checklists, pre-meal meetings, daily assignment sheets, checklists, daily accounting, purchase requisitions, inventory management, etc.
14. Ensures compliance with State and Federal regulations, including safety and sanitation standards.
15. Maintains positive staff morale by empowering a productive and fun work environment.

Requirements

1. Minimum of 5 years in a food and beverage management position, preferably at a resort with at least two dining outlets.
2. Prior experience managing banquets and groups highly desirable.
3. Culinary background; knowledgeable of all types of cuisines, wines/beers, etc. Prior chef and/or cook experience a plus.
4. Experience in F&B/resort accounting, budgeting and P&L
5. Very strong computer skills; prior experience using and teaching others how to use F&B software required.
6. Able to effectively collaborate with department managers and supervisors to ensure all objectives and budgets are met.
7. Strong collaborative, critical thinking and problem solving skills.
8. Exceptional communication skills - written and verbal
9. Ability to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
10. Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) strongly preferred.
11. Ability to work in an environment where the employee is frequently exposed to heat, steam, and noise.
12. Ability to stand for six or more hours per day, sit, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing up to 50 pounds.
13. The position requires manual dexterity; sensory skills; and the ability to follow written and oral directions and procedures.
