Ojo Santa Fe Spa Resort located in Santa Fe, NM is looking for a Pool Technician to join our Team!
Under the direction of the Pool Supervisor, Pool Technicians maintain resort pools and ensure their cleanliness and safety by completing the following duties: responding to water hygiene incidents, cleaning filters, performing water cleaning, running tests, servicing pool systems, identifying and repairing cracks and leaks, and reporting water quality to managers.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain pools including cleaning pools, checking chemical levels, adding appropriate chemicals to pool, and inspecting pool equipment.
- Pools include all soaking pools at the Spa and resort, in addition to the private pools at the Spa and in the back of certain lodging rooms.
- Understand basic water chemistry, filter cleanings, back-washing, algae treatments, etc.
- Vacuum, brush sidewalls and floors, cleaning pumps and skimmer baskets, etc.
- Inspect pool equipment and promptly report any issues with the operation of the equipment.
- Respond quickly to and communicate clearly regarding inquiries from managers and employees.
- Complete hourly, daily, weekly, and monthly logs and documents.
- Troubleshoot problems. Treat situations urgently, depending on circumstances.
- Performs responsibilities safely and according to State and Federal regulations.
Requirements
- At least 6 months experience working with pools and/or ponds.
- CPO certification required, or willing to obtain one.
- Technical knowledge of pool and spa equipment (pumps, filters, etc.)
- Dedicated, professional and organized individual with good work ethics
- Self-starter who can work alone without the need for frequent supervision.
- This is a physically demanding job that requires outdoor duties be performed in all types of weather. (Extreme cold, snow, rain, extreme heat, etc.).
- Ability to stand for eight or more hours per day, sit, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing up to 50 pounds. Requires auditory and visual skills; and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.
- Must be able to work flexible schedule to include evenings, weekends, weekdays and holidays.
- Punctuality, dependability, and flexibility are critical. Must have reliable transportation to/from work.
Due to the natural environment at Ojo Spa Resorts, all staff must be comfortable outdoors performing physical activities, and be able to navigate uneven ground, diverse terrain, multiple stairs, and be prepared to work in unpredictable weather conditions.
