Bachoco USA is seeking a Hatchery Manager to oversee our Heavener, OK facility.
Summary: The Hatchery Manager provides leadership, consultation, strategic operational plans, and direction to enable supervisors and hourly employees to collect eggs and hatch chicks. Performs administrative duties in preparing and maintaining records, reviewing production reports, and follows through on deviations from expected results.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; and three to five years related experience and/or training in a Hatchery.
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills: Must be able to operate a computer with Microsoft Windows-based programs. Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must receive Reasonable Suspicion training and certification. Must have a valid Driver's license and eligible for the company driver program.

- Plans, develops, and implements policies and practices for operation of the Hatchery to ensure attainment of goals and profitable operation.
- Arranges with farmers to supply eggs or obtain eggs from outside source.
- Directs and coordinates hatchery activities such as hatching of eggs, sorting, vaccinating and shipping of chicks, and maintenance of facilities and equipment.
- Prepares hatching schedules for variety of chicks considering such factors as customer orders, market forecasts, and hatchery facilities and equipment.
- Prepares reports on hatchery activities such as chick production and sales reports required by regulatory bodies.
- Tracks driver logs and monitors time worked.
- Maintains driver related files for Post-trip inspection reports and driver logs. Reviews Post-trip inspection reports prior to filing. Purges data at set intervals.
- Assists drivers in completing vehicle accident/incident reports. Ensures reports are filed timely.
- Advises drivers regarding VARB determinations following a vehicle accident or incident.
- Manages the learning and training experience of subordinates and hourly employees to improve their skills and knowledge.
- Maintains close and effective working relationships with live production, accounting, vendors, contract producers, government agencies, and customers.
- Keeps upper management informed with timely and sufficient information.
- Performs other duties as required.
