Bachoco USA is seeking a Blood Technician for our Fort Smith, AR location.
Summary: Collects blood, fat, and breast meat samples from breeder or broiler flocks prior to processing for testing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties and/or testing may be assigned.
- Bleeds breeder or broilers.
- Collects fat and meat samples.
- Makes out a weekly schedule.
- Assists in blood lab.
- Renders fat samples for pesticide testing.
- Assists in research trials.
- Understands and abides by the animal welfare program.
- Understands and abides by the biosecurity program.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software, Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to qualify for the company driver program. Must be able to obtain a blood license in Arkansas and Oklahoma. (Company Provided)
