Overview:
The Catering Manager position is responsible for selling the resort’s food & beverage catering services. Their primary role is to work with clients interested in hosting weddings, galas, and other social events at the resort. They will interact with Food & Beverage operations, including the culinary and banquets teams, to ensure clients have a memorable experience. They will also help to contribute marketing strategies using local catering knowledge. Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and/or 2 years of hotel catering sales experience.
- Strong negotiation and sales skills and knowledge of contracts.
- Sound business communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office as well as working knowledge of Delphi/FDC software.
- Engaging personality conducive to building client relationships.
- Directs event logistics from pre-event planning through post event recaps.
- Manages and assists with event deposits and collections.
- Knowledge of local business dynamics and competitor analysis.
- Time management skills, consistently meeting time sensitive deadlines.
- Working knowledge of banquet department (sets, AV equipment, scheduling, menu planning)
