The Laundry Aide plays an essential role in ensuring the cleanliness, availability, and distribution of linens, garments, and other washable items throughout the facility. This position supports patient care and facility operations by maintaining sanitary standards and handling laundry with care and attention to infection control protocols.
Position Responsibilities:
- Collects, sorts, washes, dries, folds, and distributes linens, garments, and laundry items used in patient care and facility operations.
- Delivers clean laundry to designated areas across the facility, including patient care units and support departments.
- Ensures linen carts are stocked and organized for daily use.
- Removes stained or damaged linens from circulation; reports shortages or supply needs to the Laundry Manager.
- Maintains cleanliness of laundry equipment and work area.
- Uses laundry equipment and cleaning chemicals safely and as trained.
- Follows established infection prevention and control policies.
- Maintains a professional, courteous relationship with patients, staff, and visitors.
- Communicates clearly with supervisor and team members regarding tasks, needs, or concerns.
- Participates in training of new staff when appropriate.
- Assists with quality assurance programs when indicated.
- Performs other related duties as assigned within the scope of knowledge and ability.
