What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Finance Director position at Okeechobee Utility Authority?
Responsibilities:
Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded and conform to Generally Acceptable Accounting Standards .i.e. GAAP, GASB etc.
Prepare timely Financial Statements according to the schedule.
Analyze all Accounting and Financial Statements for accuracy. Where variance and/or errors are noted, take corrective action(s) to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Assist in the preparation of the annual operating and capital budget.
Ensure timely completion of all accounting reconciliations.
Coach, manage and supervise employees of the Accounting and Customer Service Departments.
Assist the Finance Director in the effective and efficient management of the company.
Skills:
- Strong background in accounting and finance
- Proficiency in financial analysis and reporting
- Knowledge of financial services and corporate finance principles
- Experience with IAS (International Accounting Standards)
- Ability to perform account reconciliations accurately and efficiently
- Excellent strategic planning skills to support long-term financial goals
- Familiarity with various financial concepts such as ROI, NPV, and cash flow analysis
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
