POSITION SUMMARY: Sales non-exempt
Sales associates are responsible for performing sales related duties while selling merchandise and products to individuals in a store showroom. Sales associates shall maintain a high level of customer service at all times. Sales associates will work under the general direction of the store manager and in the absence of the store manager be able to operate the store and department in a manner consistent with company policies and procedures. Sales associates are responsible for maintaining Guest Service as per company standards, generating sales, housekeeping, merchandising, signing, pricing, point of sale operations and loss prevention in adherence to all company and store standards.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- General Requirements: Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Must posses the ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions, and to accept constructive feedback. Must have patience, tact, and enthusiasm. Must possess the ability and willingness to work and interact professionally with other personnel, vendors, business communities, and guests. Must function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively.
- Special Requirements: Superior communication skills, both oral and written. Must have reliable transportation. Must be willing to work various locations. Must be willing to work a non-standard work week.
DEGREE OF SUPERVISION:
The employee will be expected to perform most job duties independently and in accordance with established departmental and corporate policies and procedures.
- ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION:
- Report to work 30 minutes before store opening and remain until nightly paperwork is completed
- Must be capable of being on your feet (standing or walking the sales floor) for extended periods of time (up to two hours at a stretch)
- Ensure that each Guest receives outstanding Guest Service by providing a Guest friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging every Guest, maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge and all other components of Guest Service.
- Ability to use technology on a tablet; creating specialized videos for customers and sending content by various means of communication that addresses the consumers’ most desired questions
- Ability to read, count, and write to accurately complete all documentation
- Ability to move or handle merchandise throughout the store generally weighing 0-50 pounds
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures and practices including signing, pricing, and loss prevention
- Accurately and efficiently complete all sales transactions and maintain proper cash and media accountabilities at POS registers
- Communicate Guest requests to management
- Ability to climb ladders
- Ability to process information/merchandise through computer system and POS register system
- Ability to freely access all areas of the store including selling floor, stock area, and register area
- Ability to communicate with associates and guests
- Maintain an awareness of all product knowledge information, merchandise promotions, test merchandise and advertisements. Continuously train on new merchandise and selling techniques
- Assist in floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance and store housekeeping
- Assist in processing and replenishing merchandise; participate in receiving and monitoring floor stock; ensures re-wraps are done promptly
- Maintain accurate customer records
- Assist store manager with new associate training, mentoring
- Accurately report all customers who enter the store through the UPS system
- Adhere to the CFS system; customer follow-up system
- Assist in loading customer orders for pickups
- Follow all company policies and procedures
- Adhere to the selling plan and the minimum performance standards
- PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:
- Handle all customer service issues at point of occurrence
- Complete all daily paperwork, as it is due
- Must adhere to the Minimum Performance Standard policy
- Participate in all company-sponsored training
- Perform all job-related duties with company mission and vision in mind
- Demonstrate professional behavior at all times
- Constantly self evaluate skills to ensure success and identify training needs
- Continuous learning and improving skills related to sending personal videos to customers on merchandise, to Thank You for shopping, and ensuring the consumer feels confident with purchase
VI. OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS/DISCRETIONARY:
- Work a minimum of one open to close shift each week
- Work all weekends and holidays
- Other projects and tasks as required
