We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Grant Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for researching, writing, and submitting grant proposals to secure funding for our organization. The Grant Writer will play a crucial role in supporting our mission by ensuring that our funding proposals are compelling and aligned with our strategic goals.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough research on potential funding sources and grant opportunities that align with the organization's mission and projects.
- Write clear, persuasive, and well-structured grant proposals that effectively communicate the organization's needs and objectives.
- Collaborate with program staff to gather necessary information for proposal development, including project descriptions, budgets, and timelines.
- Prepare financial reports and budgets to accompany grant applications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with funder requirements.
- Edit and proofread proposals to ensure clarity, coherence, and adherence to guidelines.
- Maintain an organized system for tracking grant submissions, deadlines, and reporting requirements.
- Develop relationships with funders and stakeholders through effective communication and follow-up.
- Contribute to strategic planning efforts by providing insights on funding trends and opportunities.
Experience
- Proven experience in grant writing or a related field is preferred.
- Strong technical writing skills with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Experience in financial report writing, budgeting, and contract development is highly desirable.
- Excellent proofreading and editing skills to ensure high-quality submissions.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough research on funding opportunities and requirements.
- Familiarity with strategic planning processes is a plus.
- A degree in communications, nonprofit management, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
