Location: Oklahoma City, OK
Salary: $40,000-$45,000 based on education and/or experience and $500 bonus after 6 months and $1,000 bonus after 1 year!

Position:
Our Blood Institute is looking for a Business Analyst to assist in the development of OBI's software development and 3rd party software implementation. This position is intended to be a versatile utility role that is involved in all facets of the system's development life cycle. The Business Analyst is focused on delivering software and service tools that enable increased decision making, safer products, increased revenues, expense reductions, and FDA compliance for OBI. The role will be responsible for the execution, development, and delivery for assigned project engagements and provides the critical interactions between all business areas and IT. This position will analyze and synthesize information provided by a wide range of people who interact with the business, such as OBI employees, others from member blood banks, vendors, and consultants. The business analyst is responsible for eliciting the actual needs of stakeholders, not simply their expressed desires. The business analyst will also work to ease communication between organizational units.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required, bachelors in related field preferred.
- Experience representing a wide breadth of project types.
- Ability to learn to work with IT and business teams to gather requirements, develop preliminary work estimates, (time and dollars) create a high-level work plan and produce a work proposal document for executive management review.
- Basic knowledge of selecting and implementing 3rd party applications.
- Ability to learn the full SDLC for in-house development applications.
- Ability to work with the Project Manager to implement and complete successful projects.
- Ability to learn how to use Business Analyst/Project Management Software and Tools
- Experience with Microsoft Office Tools.
- Ability to learn the SDLC methodology.
- Ability to learn to analyze reporting needs for business users.
- Understanding of technical requirements and problem resolution skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to move projects forward regardless of obstacles while maintaining positive project presence.
- Ability to develop and implement procedures and policies.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Elicit, document, and analyze business requirements from stakeholders
- Translate business needs into clear and concise functional requirements
- Analyze and interpret complex data sets to provide insights for decision-making.
- Identify trends, patterns, and correlations in data.
- Identify gaps in business processes
- Identify areas where technology can improve the business process
- Identify areas where business processes can be improved
- Identify areas for reporting needs for the business
- Work with user to define functional business flows, data / reporting needs, and GUI interfaces
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables
- Create Change Control Proposals (CPP)
- Create high level project plans
- Work with end users and IT member to obtain project estimates for high level project plans
- Research and gather prices for vendor software
- Gain understanding of all facets of OBI business
- Become power user on business applications
- Assist with technical design
- Express IT requirements, concerns to business users
- Learn to write ad hoc reports / queries for users or for analysis purposes
- Develop and document use cases and user stories.
- Define and validate test cases to ensure requirements are met.
- Assess project scope changes and report to Manager
