Location: Oklahoma City, OK
Pay: $18.00 an hour or based on education and/or experience plus shift differential and $500 bonus after 6 months and $1,000 bonus after 1 year!

Position:
Resolve or delegate problems as needed to ensure a safe blood supply related to product quality. The Position is responsible for specimen processing, test performance, and for reporting test results.
Qualifications:
- Associates Degree in Science and/or one year of blood bank laboratory experience required.
- Associates Degree in Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science from an accredited institution preferred.
Special Physical Requirements:
- Must have full sight
- Hearing impairment requiring a hearing aid(s) is acceptable
- Must be fully ambulatory
- Heavy lifting required
Primary Responsibilities:
- Follow lab procedures and handle all blood testing in the processing lab and ensure correct and accurate documentation
- Perform, record and report testing on aphaeresis products
- Able to perform testing on the Sysmex instruments for blood component products
- Able to perform testing on the ADAM rWBC HT instrument for blood component products
- Able to perform maintenance and QC testing on all instruments
- Able to accurately sample aphaeresis products for BacT sampling and utilize BacT testing equipment.
- Perform weighing, pH testing and concentration testing on platelets and blood components using the appropriate testing equipment.
- Able to accurately enter testing results for QC reporting
- Able to verify other techs' results are accurate after testing results have been entered
- Follow QC lab procedures for reporting BacT positive samples.
- Able to run reports, determine and select for QC products according to the QC procedure plans for each product
- Document, file and maintain all paperwork needed for all QC testing
- Follow QC procedure guidelines when needed for QC failures
- Able to accurately communicate with other departments when QC validations are required and verify all required products for validation complete testing.
- Perform testing for product quality control processes and procedures
- Maintain records that demonstrate proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as donor specimens.
- Adhere to the laboratory's quality control policies and document all quality control activities
- Be capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either must correct the problems or immediately notify the lead or supervisor
- Communicating to other shifts about status of testing, equipment, and special circumstances or situations
- Resolve any problems with blood units, equipment or staff
- Perform all necessary maintenance on testing equipment
- Perform testing and meet appropriate turn around time for lot (Batch) release of blood products
- Perform additional duties as needed
