Salary: Competitive salary based on education and/or experience plus $500 bonus after 6 months and $1,000 bonus after 1 year!

Position:
Our Blood Institute is looking for a TESTING LABORATORY DIRECTOR in the Oklahoma City area who will provide direct oversight for testing operations to include evaluating and monitoring testing technologies and processes, ensuring adequate staffing levels, ensuring process control by maintaining quality systems, and ensuring that all regulatory requirements are in place for the Testing Laboratory and QC Laboratory.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences/Medical Technology with MT, MLS, or MLT certification; or Bachelor of Science degree in chemical, physical, or biological sciences with MT, MLS, or MLT certification (REQUIRED)
- Master's degree with healthcare experience (PREFERRED)
- Specialist in Blood Bank certification (PREFERRED)
- Strong MS Excel analytical skills with excellent communication skills in presenting data verbally and in writing.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Monitor and evaluate testing technologies to ensure that laboratory tests are performed in accordance with manufacturer's requirements and recommendations.
- Monitor enrollment and participation in approved proficiency testing program commensurate with the services offered.
- Review Testing Laboratory and QC Laboratory Proficiency results.
- Maintain process flow charts that describe sample accessioning, testing, quality control, preventative maintenance, and test result reporting processes.
- Establish a quality control program appropriate for the testing performed and establishing the parameters for acceptable levels of analytic performance and ensuring that these levels are maintained throughout the entire testing process from the initial receipt of the specimen, through sample analysis and reporting of test results.
- Be available to the laboratory on an as needed basis to provide on-site, telephone, or electronic consultation.
- Develop and maintain current standard operating procedures that define all procedures conducted in the laboratory.
- Develop and maintain staffing level requirements need to achieve maximum efficiency.
- Develop and maintain and administer training programs that ensure laboratory staff are trained and evaluated as required to ensure core competencies.
- Responsible for overseeing the monitoring of test analyses and specimen examinations to ensure that acceptable levels of analytic performance are maintained.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of a quality system in the laboratory to ensure that all quality system essentials are achieved.
- Monitor laboratory performance to include failed runs, QC failures, turnaround times, and missing test results.
- Oversee the process of investigating errors and develop and monitor corrective action plans to ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
- Monitor proficiency testing outcomes to ensure that testing procedures achieve the desired results.
- Oversees test results to ensure that internal and external controls are completed and within acceptable ranges.
- Oversee the performance of lot release functions and committed laboratory tests.
- Develop and maintain master equipment and reagent lists to include defined QC, QA, PM and vendor qualification schedules.
- Monitor employee performance to include resolution of performance problems.
- Plan staff schedules and assignments
- Perform evaluation and counseling sessions for staff as required.
- Monitor change control to include developing and performing impact analysis and validations.
- Assuring that all remedial actions are taken whenever test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications.
- In the event of non-conformances, ensuring that results of test examinations are not reported until all corrective actions have been taken and the test system is properly functioning.
