We are searching for a Hematology or Oncology Nurse Navigator, to function as a key member of our multidisciplinary cancer care team and to serve as an advocate and educator for cancer patients, from diagnosis through end of active treatment.
This position provides comprehensive care coordination, supporting a holistic and coordinated approach across the continuum of care. This position assists with informed decision-making; collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to allow for timely screening, diagnosis, treatment and increased supportive care throughout the patient experience. This position provides individual assistance to patients, families, and caregivers to help identify and overcome barriers which may hinder quality medical and psychosocial patient care. Supports and adheres to the Oklahoma Cancer Specialists and Research Institute Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards. Qualifications: Graduated from an accredited program for professional nursing education, BSN preferred. Five years’ or greater of experience required, preferably in an oncology environment. Current or pending oncology certification preferred. ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy Certification required or to be obtained upon hire to position. Experience and knowledge of the purpose and use of medications in the treatment of cancer. RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state. Current BLS Healthcare Provider certification. Must maintain continuing education requirements.
