Job Title : CT Technologist II

Profession : Clinical Technicians

Shift : Nights Wednesday - Friday and every other Saturday

Hours per Shift : 12 hours (7 pm - 7 am)

Experience : Preferred one year full-time experience

License : CT credentials required

Certifications : AHA BLS

Must-Have : Cardiovascular Imaging, Medical Imaging, Outpatient, Pediatric

Description :

Under general to limited supervision and direction, this intermediate-level position is able to accept independent clinical and non-clinical duty assignments as necessary to deliver specialized cardiovascular and radiologic technology services to adult and pediatric patient populations.

The purpose is to aid medical staff in the diagnosis, care, treatment, and surveillance of simple to complex conditions, defects, and diseases.

Performs essential duties and responsibilities of a Level I position.

Provides safe, high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective patient-centric care and support services under routine or emergent conditions.

Care settings include, but are not limited to, acute inpatient facilities, outpatient physician practices, diagnostic / urgent care centers, and remote statewide outreach clinics.

Prepares patients for procedures and correlates clinical history with procedures ordered by physicians to be performed.

Communicates and collaborates with patients, families, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team to achieve clinical outcomes, operational goals, and service expectations.

Utilizes specialized imaging equipment and techniques to perform a diverse range of diagnostic, interventional, and surgical procedures according to established scope of practice guidelines.

Conducts post-procedure reviews without assistance to ensure completion, documentation, and quality of study elements per department protocols and accreditation standards.

Transfers images and data to appropriate archival systems, enters technical data / findings, and prepares the study for physician reporting.

Performs operator-level quality control checks, cleaning, disinfecting, and other maintenance per manufacturer instructions and regulatory guidelines.

Participates in continuing education, professional development, and research activities to maintain competencies and promote improvements in care and treatments.

Provides instruction and mentors less experienced team members.

Prepares and presents in-service training pertinent to the assigned service area.

Performs quality assurance and performance improvement tasks as assigned.

Skills required include applying principles of cardiovascular and radiologic technology, medical imaging, medical terminology, positioning of patients, and medical ethics.

Ability to work as part of a team, follow instructions, and consistently report to work as scheduled.

Sensitive to patients' physical and psychological needs.

Maintains accurate records and works accurately with names, numbers, and codes.

Exercises discretion handling confidential information and sound judgment in decision making.

Proficient in multi-tasking and remaining calm in stressful situations.

Possesses initiative and commitment towards efficiently completing assignments.

Demonstrates attention to detail with ability to work with minimal supervision.
