Description
SCOPE :
Responsible for obtaining data, reviewing and screening applications to determine eligibility for admissions to and continued occupancy in public housing. Responsible for leasing Public Housing units to eligible applicants. Responsible for monitoring recertification activities for public housing residents.
ACCOUNTABILITY :
Directly responsible to the Public Housing Intake and Recertification Supervisor.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED :
Takes initial applications and conducts applicant interviews and screening for admission to Public Housing. Notifies applicants of eligibility / ineligibility and maintains waiting list for Public Housing units.
Prepares list of Public Housing residents requiring annual recertification. Cooperates with outside organizations regarding verifications needed to complete recertifications. Notifies resident and Manager of rent changes by mail. Acts as intermediary in disputes regarding rent calculation and prepares written reports for resident file.
Computes rent and performs data entry to include client demographics with regard to financial and / or family composition changes.
Scanning files into electronic data base, answering incoming Public Housing Calls.
Assists in monitoring outreach and marketing of Public Housing units.
Assists in the preparation of required reports.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED :
High School Diploma or equivalent or a combination of education and work experience. Appropriate clerical, typing, ten key and computer experience. Familiarity and experience with basic computer principles and usage. Ability to understand and apply governing policies and procedures as implemented by Management. Ability to work independently, have a good sense of priorities and be willing to use initiative. Ability to meet and deal with the general public and interact with applicants, residents and Authority personnel in a positive and effective manner. Ability to retain proprietary information confidential. Ability to comply with Authority attendance policies.
PHYSICAL :
Ability to read and write correspondence, read and post ledgers and work with computerized reports, code books, etc. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with others by telephone and in person. Physical range of motion and coordination for extensive filing and work with client files. All physical requirements are evaluated based on the ability to perform, with or without reasonable accommodations under the ADA.
This position is eligible to telework. Individual approval is subject to Personnel Policy requirements.
