This entry level role within Human and Player Performance will allow you to learn about and contribute to the work of our athletic performance staff. This work is critical to optimizing the physical needs and well-being of our staff and athletes. Operating within a multidisciplinary staff of medical, athletic performance, and performance science, you will help facilitate an evidence-based approach to human and player performance.
Responsibilities
- Support the Thunder and Blue Athletic Performance staff by completing day to day weight room responsibilities with high levels of care and attention to detail.
- Support the work of Athletic Performance staff, primarily assisting with off-season and summer league training.
- Contribute to creating a high energy environment that allows talent to thrive.
- Assist with implementation of physical assessments.
- Develop a thorough understanding of and ability to use various technologies and resources currently employed.
- Learn various evidence based approaches to human and player performance used in Athletic Performance space.
- Travel with the G-League affiliate team during 24 – 25 season, as assigned.
- Meet learning objectives set forth by staff in athletic performance, medical and performance science areas.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science or related area
- Desire to learn about multiple aspects of a professional sport environment
- Current industry related certification(s) (e.g., CSCS, ATC, CPSS, ASpS, DPT, RD)
- Strong interpersonal skills and proven respect for confidentiality
- Experience working within or competing in sport is preferred
- Current legal status to work in the United States
ADDITIONAL DETAILS:
This is a paid, part-time, position beginning in May located in Oklahoma City and reporting to the Director of Athletic Performance and Rehabilitation. Work schedule may include working on short notice as well as work on evenings, weekends, and holidays. Work hours will total no more than 29 hours per week. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are needed for occasional travel. The background check will include a driver's record.
