Join the Oklahoma City Thunder Community Engagement team to help make a difference in the community! As the Community Engagement Outreach Coordinator, you will be an integral part of the Thunder’s fast-paced world of community engagement with an emphasis on event presentation. This position is for a highly detailed, well-organized individual to contribute to a broader vision of the Thunder’s role in the community, both state-wide and regionally.
In this role you will:
- In coordination with other departments, manage logistics for high profile community engagement outreach activations with players, staff, corporate and community partners
- Prepare and coordinate administrative materials, develop and maintain event schedules, and serve as liaison with internal teams, community partners, vendors, and others to establish event needs throughout planning and implementation
- Track all community and outreach events, including inventory of activation supplies, staffing, and scheduling
- Curate events and experiences that are excuted to the Thunder standard
- Manage budgets, track expenses, and ensure efficient uses of resources
- Identify and create innovative market opportunities to support team initiatives
- Conduct post-event evaluations, capture feedback, and incorporate insights to improve future events, while staying updated on industry trends
- Perform other duties as assigned
What you’ll bring to the role:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Good judgment and the ability to handle confidential information
- Ability to prioritize and manage challenging situations with a calm, solution-oriented approach
- Flexibility and creativeness in adapting to last minute event changes and requests
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and other related applications
- Ability to build and maintain relationships across all levels of the organization
- Familiarity with local non-profit groups and community organizations is a plus
Additional Details:
This is a full-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Director, Community Engagement. A valid driver’s license, insurance, and an outstanding driving record are required. The schedule includes regular office hours as well as evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary, occasionally at short notice. Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, lift overhead, bend, climb and stand for extended periods. Work will occur at both indoor and outdoor settings across in a range of temperatures.
