Description
Join our team of Oklahoma City Thunder Entertainers and engage with fans in exciting and innovative ways! As a Storm Chaser, you’ll bring energy to life by connecting with fans through promotions, contests, and interactive experiences. You’ll be involved in both in-arena events and community activities, including watch parties, festivals, court dedications, school assemblies, and more.
In this role you will:
- Entertain and energize fans through initiating crowd chants
- Uphold a positive personal reputation and serve as a brand ambassador, contributing to our mission of creating the most fan-centric organization in sports
- Perform in front of small or large groups including 18,203 Thunder guests at home games
- Complete all on-court and in-stands promotions, including holding signs, leading cheers, creating an enthusiastic atmosphere for contest participants, running with T-H-U-N-D-E-R flags, and distributing t-shirts with CO2 cannons, slingshots, and other methods
- Welcome Thunder fans as they enter the arena and maintain high energy during post-game departures
- Distribute promotional items at games, watch parties, and events as needed
- Engage and entertain fans at select community events
- Perform other duties as assigned
What you’ll bring to the role:
- Ability to captivate and engage a diverse audience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- High energy with strong stage presence
- Some type of dance, tumbling, stunting, improv, theater, or related performance experience is preferred but not required
- Great time management skills, with the ability to multitask and thrive under tight deadlines.
Additional details:
Work schedule and training will require evenings, weekends and holidays including all home game nights as well as scheduled community appearances. Must be at least 18 years of age as of 8/24/2024 with a valid government issued photo ID and have a clean driving record along with reliable transportation. Work environment will include loud music and crowd noise as well as flashing or strobe lights. Physical requirements of the job include maneuvering stairs, jumping, waving, lifting, holding signs over your head, throwing, and yelling or cheering. Physical requirements may also include performing for long periods of time and working outdoors in hot or cold weather. This is a part-time position reporting to the Game Presentation & Entertainment Coordinator. Employees are encouraged to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
