Responsibilities
The OHH Senior Scheduler ensures that all requests for inpatient and/or outpatient procedures are scheduled in a timely and accurate manner. Interacts with physicians, nurses, managers and other staff. Handles confidential patient information. Performs all work in accordance with the mission and values of Oklahoma Heart Hospital. Assumes the lead role for all scheduling issues and staffing of the scheduling area. Assures customer services is being provided.
INPATIENT SCHEDULING:
- Obtains the order and the request to schedule form the scheduling queue based on priority
- Schedules appointments and prints notifications to the nursing floor
- Maintains working knowledge of OHH managed care contracts
- Masters all procedures necessary to perform duties on downtime
OUTPATIENT SCHEDULING:
- Obtains the order and the request to schedule form the scheduling queue based on priority
- Schedules appointments and prints notifications to the nursing floor
- Maintains working knowledge of OHH managed care contracts
- Masters all procedures necessary to perform duties on downtime.
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: Clerical experience required, preferably in a medical setting. Previous scheduling experience in a physician or facility preferred.
Working Knowledge: Windows based operating systems preferred. Professional verbal and written communication skills. Medical terminology and medical insurance knowledge preferred.
