Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs
The Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs is the chief academic officer and chief student affairs officer for the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education. In this capacity, the Vice Chancellor provides academic leadership to the Oklahoma State System of Higher Education, consisting of 25 public colleges and universities as well as constituent agencies.
The position guides the State Regents’ academic work in the areas of academic policy, student preparation, collegiate programs, student services, and federal postsecondary authorization and compliance. Academic leadership includes strategies and work relating to :
- Creating pathways for high school students to seek higher education opportunities, including concurrent enrollment, traditional students, and adult degree completion initiatives.
- Developing programs promoting workforce and economic development.
- Implementing the academic initiatives contained within the State Regents’ strategic plan.
- Providing leadership and oversight for state grants and scholarships operations.

Provide leadership and direction for the Academic Affairs and Student Affairs division of the State Regents and the Oklahoma State System of Higher Education, including responsibility, oversight, and supervision for :

Minimum Qualifications
The individual in this position must have an earned doctorate from an accredited university and possess at least five (5) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a higher education setting, including direct supervision of staff. Qualifying administrative experience should demonstrate significant leadership responsibilities, such as strategic planning, budget management, academic program oversight, policy development, or faculty / staff supervision. The individual should have a thorough knowledge and understanding of higher education and excellent verbal, writing, and analytical abilities.
The candidate will have a proven ability to navigate the complexities of system-wide higher education, fostering effective collaboration among both internal and external stakeholders. A strong understanding of national trends in academics, student affairs, workforce development, and economic issues is essential. The candidate should also demonstrate a commitment to innovation in addressing challenges and advancing the mission of higher education. Some in and out-of-state travel required.

Supervision
The employee performs work under the supervision of the Chancellor.
Work Hours
Agency offices are open to the public from 8 A.M. to 5 P.M. Monday through Friday. These are the normal office hours for Agency employees.
Physical Demands
Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time. Exhibit manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to operate a computer, keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment. Ability to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids. Ability to hear and understand speech at normal levels, with or without aids. Ability to communicate clearly. Physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds, to bend, stoop, climb stairs, walk and reach. Must use the proper manual handling equipment including but not limited to dollies, carts and lift team members. Duties are normally performed in an office environment with a moderate noise level.
